The SVS School of Dental Sciences was started in 2003 to provide competent and evidence based dental care in a synergistic environment.
Since its founding, the College has graduated several dentists and dental hygienists. Even though the Curriculum follows the prescribed DCI format, there’s constant up gradation on the course content based on the inputs from alumni and the practicing dental community. The approach taught here is patient-centered and is constantly evaluated to integrate evolving biotechnological advances within the context of health promotion and disease prevention.
The BDS course offered at SVS is recognized by the Dental Council of India and is affiliated to the NTR Health University, Andhra Pradesh.

Dental Hygiene :
Ideally, if you want to become a preventive oral health professional .The Course provides educational, clinical and therapeutic services that support total health through the promotion of optimal oral health. Dental hygiene offers an excellent opportunity to serve the community in private dental practices, dental clinics, public health agencies, schools, hospitals, government agencies, industry, education and research.
Endodontics:
The Department of Endodontics provides education to develop competent diagnosticians and clinicians in the field of dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases involving the dental pulp and the tissues at the root apex and prepares you for careers in a multitude of areas, including clinical practice, teaching and research.
General Dentistry:
Modern health care requires caring, competent primary care providers who place patient welfare above all other considerations. In dentistry, the General Dentist fulfills that role. The general dentist is responsible for leading diagnostic, treatment planning, and therapeutic endeavors for all patients under his or her care.
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery:
This is a specialty of dentistry concerned with the diagnosis and surgical treatment of congenital or acquired diseases, dysfunction, defects or injuries of the mouth, jaws, face, neck and associated regions.
Orthodontics :
This is a specialty in dentistry that deals with straightening teeth and treating problems related to growth and development of the jaws. The Course helps develop proficiency in diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of a wide variety of malocclusions using multiple appliance techniques and treatment philosophies.
Pediatric Dentistry :
This provides instruction on preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children.
Periodontics :
Prepares the student in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth to dental and dental hygiene. Areas of instruction include periodontal anatomy, etiology – pathogenesis and host-response in periodontal disease, periodontal diagnosis, treatment planning and prognosis, periodontal instrumentation, periodontal surgical techniques, clinical crown lengthening, periodontal medicine, periodontal maintenance.
Restorative Sciences :
This provides preclinical and clinical instruction in the disciplines of operative dentistry, fixed prosthodontics, removable prosthodontics, dental implants, dental auxiliary utilization, dental materials, dental anatomy, occlusion and professional ethics.
Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology :
This area of instruction specializes in the radiographic investigation of oral (mouth) and maxillofacial (jaws, facial region including sinuses, and related structures, such as the temporomandibular joints or salivary glands) through the making and interpreting of radiographs.
Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology:
The primary educational goals of this course is to understand pathology and understand the processes of cellular tissue injury, environmental pathologies, developmental disorders, inflammation and repair mechanisms, neoplastic disturbances and tumors, and fluid and hemodynamic disorders.
Prosthodontics :
Prosthodontics is the dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues. As a prosthodontist, you can specialize in cosmetic restoration and replacement of teeth besides dealing with restoration of implants and rehabilitation of occlusion with prostheses.
